Privacy Policy
Sunday Eng ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
- Email address (optional): You can add a recovery email in Settings. It is optional — the app works without one. It is used to send you a one-time code to reset your password, and once you have verified it that way you can also sign in with it instead of your username. We never ask for the password of your email account, and we never read your email.
- Username: A unique display name you choose when you join.
- Location (self-reported): You manually select your country, state, and city from a dropdown during setup. We do not access your device GPS or track your location. Your entered location is only used to show you relevant content, people, services, and opportunities.
- Private messages: Stored securely with encryption on our servers and deleted automatically — see "How long messages are kept" below.
- Content you post: Anything you publish in the app — text you write, images or photos you upload, and the stickers, emojis, shapes and animations you add to a post.
- Usage data: Post views, likes, comments, and interactions — to improve content recommendations.
- Pages and subscriptions: If you create a page, we store its name, description and posts, and the list of accounts subscribed to it. If you subscribe to a page, we store that you did.
- Friends and connections: Who you have added as a friend, and requests you have sent or received.
- Games: Your scores and best results in the in-app games, and the coins and diamonds you earn or spend. Scores may be shown to other users where the game has a top-scorer list.
- Payment data: Coin purchase transactions are processed by Cashfree Payments. We do not store your card or UPI details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To display your posts and profile to other users.
- To calculate and display coin balance and transaction history.
- To show location-relevant content, users, pages and search results.
- To send you notifications about activity on your account.
- To send you notifications, announcements and messages from Sunday Eng.
- To deliver your messages to the people you send them to, and to show friends-only posts to your friends.
- To show your posts to the people who subscribe to your page.
- To keep your game scores, and to show top scores where a game has a scoreboard.
- To improve app features and fix bugs.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on our servers. We use encryption to protect your data during transmission. We do not share your personal data with third parties except as required by law or to process payments through Cashfree Payments.
3A. Message Security
Private messages are transmitted securely and stored with encryption on our servers. They are deleted automatically, as set out below. We respect your privacy and do not actively monitor private conversations. However, we may access message data if required by law or to investigate reported violations of our Terms of Use.
How long messages are kept
Messages are deleted automatically. Nothing below is a promise to store a message for that long — each line is the latest point at which it is removed, and in practice a message is gone well before it.
- The clock starts when a message is read, not when it is sent.
- Each chat has its own auto-delete setting, and that is what normally removes a message: as soon as you leave the chat, 1 hour after it was read, or 24 hours after it was read (24 hours is the default). This is why almost every message is gone within hours.
- If nobody opens that chat again, our server removes any message that has been read once it is 7 days old. This is housekeeping on our side, not storage: by then the chat's own setting has almost always deleted the message already.
- A message that has never been read is not removed by those timers — it stays available to be read.
- No message is kept longer than 30 days from the day it was sent, whether it was ever read or not.
- Whichever of these comes first is the one that applies. So a message read on, say, the twenty-ninth day is then governed by the chat's own setting — and the 30-day limit still applies to it, so it is removed no later than day 30.
- Deletion removes the message from our servers, for both people in the chat.
4. Payments
All coin purchases are processed through Cashfree Payments, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway regulated under RBI guidelines. Sunday Eng does not store any payment card or bank account information.
5. Data Deletion
You delete your account yourself, from inside it, and it happens at once:
in the app go to Settings → Delete Account. That removes your account and
everything in it. We keep only the receipt for a payment you actually made, as proof of that
payment.
There is more than one way back into an account, and they are all set up before you
need them. When you create an account the app tells you plainly to save your username
and password somewhere safe. On top of that you can set a password hint, add and verify a
recovery email, and set security questions — any one of them will get you back in through
Forgot Password, and from there you can delete the account yourself.
If you kept none of them, we cannot establish that the account is yours. An
account here is not tied to any identity document: we do not ask anyone for an identity card, a
passport or any other document, and we hold none, so there is nothing here that such a document
could be checked against. Your username and password are the only proof of ownership there is.
That is why the app tells you, when you create the account, to save them somewhere safe.
And a username is not a secret — it is on every post and every profile.
So anybody who has seen it can give that username and say the account is theirs, or that they
are the parent, and there is nothing that could tell them apart from the person whose account it
is. A claim like that proves nothing, and if it were enough, anybody who simply claimed to be
you could have your account deleted, or taken. That limit is not us being unhelpful; it
is the only thing keeping your account yours.
6. Children's Privacy
Sunday Eng is intended for users aged 13 and above. A child under 13 should use the app only on a parent or legal guardian's account and under their supervision.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.
A parent or legal guardian who wants a child's account removed does it the same way anyone else does: in the app, Settings → Delete Account. It removes the account and everything in it, at once. We do not do it from outside the account, for the reason given in section 5.
Very little is held in any case. Private messages are deleted automatically — within hours in most chats, and never later than 30 days (see "How long messages are kept" above). Posts are removed automatically a few days after they are published. Transaction history older than 15 days is cleared automatically, except receipts for coin purchases, which are kept as proof of payment. And any user can delete their own account, with everything in it, from inside the app at any time.
7. Grievance Officer
Privacy complaints and data-related requests can be sent to our designated Grievance Officer:
- Grievance Officer: Sunday Eng Support Team
- Email: sundayeng.team@gmail.com
- We aim to acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days, except where prevented by circumstances beyond our control, as described in section 7 of our Terms of Use.
